Muriwai Beach Campground is a laid-back coastal escape just 40 minutes from Auckland. It’s located beside the black sands of Muriwai Beach and the 380-hectare Muriwai Regional Park. It’s a convenient place to stay outside of the city while exploring the Auckland area.
Camp under the pines or park your camper on one of the powered or unpowered sites, with cabins available if you’re after a little extra comfort. The campground has modern facilities including a kitchen, hot showers, and BBQ areas.
From the campground, it’s a short stroll to the beach—popular for surfing, and sunsets over the Tasman Sea. Don’t miss the famous gannet colony (August to March). It’s just a short walk from the campground. Or explore nearby hiking tracks, mountain biking trails, and the Hillary Trail.
Surf lessons, horse treks, and even a round of golf are all on offer nearby. Muriwai Beach Campground is a handy spot to stay—just close enough to Auckland city and next to the gorgeous Muriwai Beach.
