Kai Iwi Lakes Campground is your ultimate chill spot for crystal-clear freshwater vibes! Just north of Dargaville, the Kumara Capital, this place is a hidden gem on Northland’s west coast. Camp right next to the shores of the main lake (Taharoa) at either Pine Beach or Promenade Point.
Both campsites provide hiking access to the main loop track around Lake Taharoa. They offer basic facilities, with a focus on the local environment. Hot showers are only available at Pine Beach.
Access to the 107 kilometre Ripiro Beach is possible via a 30 minute track over farmland. The track begins near Promenade Point. Kai Iwi Lakes Campground is the kind of spot that makes you forget WiFi exists.
